Southborough Public School Playgrounds

These are closed to the public during school hours, but otherwise open to the community.

Heritage Day Parade

Kindergroup parents, caregivers, and children are invited to march in Southborough's Heritage Day Parade held in the center of town. We meet in the parking lot of St. Anne’s Church to distribute balloons, decorate strollers, wagons and bikes. The Parade ends at the Heritage Day celebration on St. Mark’s Field and it’s a great way to spend the rest of the afternoon.

Car Seat Inspection Day

Southborough Kindergroup welcomes the community to a free Car Seat Inspection Day on Sunday, October 23, 8:30–10:30 AM at the Southborough Public Safety Facility. Stop by to have trained technicians inspect your car seat. The technicians are happy to help with the installation of new car seats, provide advice on whether it is the right car seat for your child, or simply check to make sure your existing car seat is installed properly. Inspections normally take 15 minutes or less (depending on number of seats and their condition).

Please register here for a 30-minute window and let us know the number of vehicles and seats to be checked. Parents/caregivers are asked to have their vehicle manual handy as well as the car seat manual. Part of the installation includes the proper fitting for the child in the car seat. While it is not required, it is strongly encouraged that your child(ren) accompany you to the inspection.

A big thank you to Captain Jason Malinowski of the Boxborough Fire Department (Southborough resident) and Officer Norton of the Southborough Police Department for offering their time and expertise for this event.

The annual Santa Day event in Southborough, typically scheduled for the first Saturday in December, is attended by hundreds of families. Santa has an exciting arrival in a helicopter (or fire truck) on St. Mark’s Field in the center of town and then makes his way to the Southborough Community House to greet children and take pictures.

This year's event will take place on Saturday, December 2 in all the usual places. Santa will land promptly at noon on St. Mark’s field. Festivities will follow at the Community House (28 Main Street). There will be story time with Mrs. Claus, Elsa and Olaf, winter craft making, and face painting. There will be complementary refreshments and also food for purchase! This is a FREE event for the ENTIRE community made possible by many generous donors.
